I don’t know what ya’ll typically do while listening to podcasts, but allow me to tell a cautionary tale.
Once upon a (recent) time, my big sister got married, and I decided that like a nice, dutiful, crafty sibling, I would make her a super awesome quilt as a wedding gift. I hand quilted it. Hand quilting takes forever and requires you to sit very still and keep your eyes on what you’re doing. I thought I knew the perfect thing to pass the time.
there are still not enough half-hour episodes of two idiots reading yahoo news in the world to fill up all the time it takes to quilt a full-sized bedspread by hand
Every time I lay eyes on that piece of heartfelt, loving handiwork that consumed my entire summer, instead of thinking about how much I love my sister I will immediately hear AND NOW ITS TIME FOR CHOPTER COPTER SEVEN IN THE SKY WITH CRENDOR CRENDOR HOW’S THAT TRAFFIC OUT THERE?????
and i will never be able to adequately explain to her why i am laughing.
I was out with a big group a few days ago and one of them wanted to go to Dave and Busters; most of us, myself included, had never been to one before. The ones who had didn’t really know how to explain it so I said “It’s like someone poured a Buffalo Wild Wings into a Chuck-e-Cheese” and that turned out to be 100% accurate.
